It’s A Wrap!

Two peas in a pod!

Hey there Sunshine! We survived Christmas! I can honestly say that this was the first Christmas where I really wasn’t ready. I always say I’m not ready but this year, I REALLY wasn’t to ready. Yes, I was ready to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas but I wasn’t ready for the gift giving part.

Thanksgiving to Christmas is always a whirlwind but I swear someone took away some days this year. I know, Christmas is December 25th every year but this year it came sooner than expected. I was running around with my head cut off and freaking because I didn’t have all my shopping done, didn’t really know what I still needed to buy and I didn’t have gifts wrapped before heading out of town. OMG!! For an organized control freak like me,this was overwhelming. While talking me off a ledge a friend asked a profound question, “can’t you wrap gifts at your mom’s house?”  She then proceeded to say “girl, pack up those gifts, wrap them at your mom’s and move on.” What a simple idea. This shows how easy it is to get stuck in routines and lose sight of the simple solutions.

I finished shopping and wrapping at my mom’s house and believe it or not, the gifts still opened the same as if I wrapped them at my house!  Christmas celebration with the family was spread over several days.  We began with a family party where we ate, played games, laughed and ate some more. Christmas Eve we had a family church service and Christmas Day we opened gifts, ate some more, laughed some more and celebrated my mom’s birthday!!

I share a few of my favorite photos from our family time together. I hope you enjoyed time with those who are important in your life. For me, it was a reminder to breathe and stop sweating the small stuff like unwrapped gifts.
