Style and Versatility with Christopher Banks

Style and versatility are must haves in my work to wardrobe. I prefer selections that will allow me to dress them up or down; wear heels or flats.  Today I’m sharing a couple looks that I got from Christopher and Banks that have allowed me versatility in switching things up.

I was recently contacted by Christopher and Banks to discuss opportunities to try out their brand.  I had never heard of them so I of course did my research and checked out their website.  I wanted to make sure on their selections and style matched mine.  Call me old fashion but I still find value in going to the store, touching the items to check out the quality and trying them on for fit.  The closest Christopher and Banks as about an hour from me in Garland at  Fire Wheel Mall.  I convinced my husband to ride along with me, promising lunch, and off we went.

The store was nice, service was exceptional and of course I found several pieces that I liked. They were having a great sale so it was hard to decide what was going home with me.

Check out a few of my picks and also see how easy it is to dress them up with heels or down with flats.

The Pant Fit

Pants and jeans are items where it seems it’s trial and error to find a good fit.  Because of this, I have a few go to stores where I’ve already fitted out which style of pants and/or jeans fit me best and I go back to them.

Surprisingly, I had good luck with the fit of the pants and jeans.  Most of the ones I tried on ran true to size however, I actually went down a size in the black pull on slimming lux stretch pants.  I loved the fit of these.  They have just enough stretch to make them comfortable when sitting at a desk all day.

I also really liked the fit fo the everyday trouser which comes in seven colors and three lengths.  I purchased them in brown. While I didn’t purchase jeans, the ones I tired on fit very good!

Tops-Perfect for Layering

Christopher and Banks had a nice selection of tops that were great for work or casual outings.  I was drawn to their Perfect Tee which comes in long sleeve, short sleeve and tank versions.  I got a short sleeve and tank since they are both great for layering.  They come in a large selection of colors, the fabric is soft, they fit well and I liked the jewel neckline which was different than most of my tee necklines.

Jackets and Stuff

When I went into the store I had hoped to walk out with a cute casual jacket that I could wear with pants, jeans or maybe over a sleeveless dress.  They had a pretty large selection of casual jackets as well as some you could pair with dressier slacks for a more professional look.

I liked the colorful striped denim jacket.  It has just the right splash of colors that will give me versatility to wear different items.  For instance, here I put it with this burgundy tee to pull out the burgundy stipes.

They also had a good selection of cardigans.  Right now cardigans are a staple item in my wardrobe.  I can throw one on to change the look of an outfit or in times such as this past week, carry one with me while in cold meeting rooms.   (cardigan and heels to dress it up or just tee and flats for a more business casual look)

If you are more of a wrap person, they had cute ruana wraps.  This is another one of my go to versatile pieces, especially during transitional weather when you want to have a little something over your shoulders or you want to use it as a layering piece.  And, I had fun knotting it for a different look.

Accessories

The last thing I need to bring into the house is jewelry but of course I did look.  Christopher and Banks had a nice selection of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, scarves, etc.  When I was there they were buy one get one ½ off.  I did pick up a belt that I thought would look super cute with my leopard print shoes.

I’m pretty excited that I have found a new store to add to my “places to shop” list.  One where I can find the style and versatility  that I must have  to make my getting dressed life must easier and helps keep my closet in order.    If there’s a Christoper and Banks in your area stop in and check them out or better check them out online.

Hi! I just found your blog. I too shop at Christopher and Banks, but I shop online. I am in north Texas and the Garland store is too far from me. I look forward to seeing more of your styles you find from different stores.
